Mat Pilates Connewarre

Clinical Pilates Connewarre – Personalised Pilates Studio

What does Clinical Pilates involve?

Exercise Pilates, also known as Clinical Pilates or mat Pilates, is run by a practitioner and aims to improve bodily function, flexibility, muscular strength, balance, and endurance. It uses selective and repetitive body movements with a particular focus on control and stability, helping to reduce and prevent pain caused by injury, accident, and overuse.

Our practitioners aim to grasp your personal goals, enhance your confidence, and improve your physical capabilities. The exercises are tailored to your level, and personalised support and technique correction are offered during the class.

Our passion for exercise is matched by our understanding of the health benefits gained from regular activities such as Mat Pilates.

Trying something new, joining a class, or beginning a new exercise program can seem challenging. Pilates serves as the ideal first step towards more intense exercise, a great way to complement a rigorous training schedule, and a wonderful way to start moving again if you haven’t exercised in a while.

Whatever your fitness level, age, body shape, or health goal may be, our Clinical Pilates Instructors are committed to supporting you every step of the way.

  • When is an assessment appropriate?

It is recommended to undergo a physiotherapy or osteopathy assessment before attending our classes for the first time, regardless of any past experience in Pilates groups.

Practitioner-led Exercise Pilates varies from public and gym-based group sessions. Clinical Pilates centres on optimal movement, breathing, and control during a sequence of exercises. Similar to other exercises, your body will be challenged, making it essential to have adequate control and strength to prevent new strains and injuries.

An individual assessment by a physiotherapist or osteopath can examine your core stability, exercise form, and movement control to optimise your performance in each group class.

We may create a complimentary exercise program to better prepare you for classes. If you are dealing with a particular injury, seeing a physiotherapist before joining the group can ensure we select the right exercises for you and offer better support in the class environment. However, you can begin classes without an assessment by completing a medical waiver.
