Clinical Pilates Marcus Hill – Personalised Pilates Studio

What does Clinical Pilates involve?

Practitioner-led Exercise Pilates or mat Pilates, also referred to as Clinical Pilates, focuses on improving bodily functions, flexibility, muscular strength, balance, and endurance. This practice incorporates selective and repetitive movements with a strong focus on control and stability, which can help in relieving and preventing pain caused by injury, accident, and overuse.

Our practitioners strive to understand your individual goals, build your confidence, and ultimately improve your physical abilities. Exercises are adapted to suit your level, with personalised support and technique correction provided throughout the class.

Exercise is our passion, and we recognise the health benefits that regular physical activity like Clinical Pilates can provide.

Starting something new, joining a class, or initiating a new exercise program might feel daunting. Pilates is an excellent introduction to more intense workouts, a great method to supplement a demanding training schedule, and a perfect way to get active if you haven’t exercised in some time.

Regardless of your fitness level, age, body shape, or health goal, our Clinical Pilates Instructors are dedicated to guiding you through every step.

  • When should you have an assessment?

It is recommended to undergo a physiotherapy or osteopathy assessment before attending our classes for the first time, regardless of any past experience in Pilates groups.

Exercise Pilates, under the guidance of a practitioner, differs from public and gym-based group sessions. Clinical Pilates prioritises optimal movement, breathing, and control while performing a sequence of exercises. Like any exercise, it will challenge your body, and maintaining sufficient control and strength is important to avoid new strains and injuries.

An individual physiotherapy or osteopathy assessment can check your core stability, exercise form, and movement control to get the best out of each group class.

A complimentary exercise program may be developed to better prepare you for classes. If you are managing a specific injury, consulting a physiotherapist before joining the group can help us find the most suitable exercises for you and provide better support in the class environment. However, you can start classes without an assessment by completing a medical waiver.
