Project Description

Briony Barry

Graduated with Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Physiotherapy Practice from La Trobe University in 2013
Completed further study in clinical pilates, shoulder assessment and rehab, hip and SIJ dysfunction, dry needling and tendon rehab.
I love the outdoors especially hiking, I completed the Oxfam 100km event in 2019.
When I’m not at work I enjoy travelling, especially anywhere sunny. Relaxing beside a pool with a good book is my favourite place to be.
You may also see me on my SUP on the Barwon river or walking my sausage dog Frankie on the beach
I’ve Spent the last 6 years working in both private practice and private hospitals in Melbourne.
I have worked mostly in the musculoskeletal area of physiotherapy which is my area of interest. I believe education is an integral part of the treatment process and always try to ensure my patients have a good understanding of their condition. I particularly enjoy clinical pilates having been running small group and individual sessions for many years.

I most enjoy doing pilates with people of all age groups, but especially during the stages of pregnancy. I believe strongly in the benefit of exercise on both our physical and emotional wellbeing. I enjoy getting to know my patients really well in this setting and see them progress at each session and achieve their goals.

Moving back to my home town of Ocean Grove has always been a dream for me. I love that 13th Beach Health Services share my passion for the community and the beautiful lifestyle we have down here.
